i will always remember our first christmas tree :)

so as you may remember i was acting a little Mrs.Grinch this year. i was over christmas. i wasn't in the mood for christmas music, wreaths etc.....
....until i went to pier one imports! i'm not kidding it completely changed me! after coming home from the store i was pondering an idea. anyone ever seen how i met your mother?? well if you haven't the short story is every year lily makes marshal (her hubby) "lily's winter wonderland" pretty much filled with amazing decorations and the smell of delicious holiday baked goods.

...what if i did "jenna's winter wonderland" for dane??

i decided i was! all i had to do was make sure dane wasn't home until late on a day during the week and it would be perfect! i was lucky enough that one of my co-workers said we could use one of her old fake trees that was still in good condition. jennifer was going to help me get it from alicia's...grab some ornaments and decorations and it would be set. i would take care of the baking part.

problem.

dane has finals this week. that means he comes home before i did every day for the rest of the week. i'm a pretty bad liar when it comes to him so long story short.....i did HORRIBLE trying to get him out of the house that i ended up telling him my plan *insert disappointed face here* 

so after picking up the tree from alicia's we start putting it together. long story short: it's too tall. it won't fit in our tiny apartment. i am soooo bummed it's ridiculous. so bummed that MAYBE one would say i pouted. maybe. but then to make matters worse.....dane and i start fighting. i won't get into the details but pretty much he couldn't understand why i was so upset about a tree and i couldn't understand how he couldn't see why i would be upset about the tree. hahaha gotta love marriage ;)

dane leaves for work. (9pm to 2am)

pan to following morning....

7:30 am: dane and i have to get up early so he can come to work with me and get an MRI of his wrist. as my tired butt with hair a mess and barely awake eyes stumble to the living room what do i see?? a christmas tree. my adorable and incredibly sweet husband went to wal-mart at 2:30 in the morning to buy a tree and put it up while i was sleeping so i could wake up to it. yeah! he is THAT amazing!! so a cheesy idea turns into an argument which turns into an amazing surprise!!!

...it's amazing how wonderful he is to me. i truly truly am blessed.
