Meeting #2

8:06 AM
Day 71
We met with our project manager Tommy on Wednesday to do the "official" framing walk through. The purpose of this is for him to show us the progress of the home and to point out where everything is located before they put up the sheet rock. This part probably would have been super exciting except for the fact that we have visited the house about 200 times since the framing went up. I assume for most people this appointment is all oooo's and awwws because they are seeing everything for the first time.

Not in our case.

It felt funny because we would walk through a room and Tommy would say "Uh…so here is your outlet"…"Here is another one"…"Here is some wiring for your washer & dryer" etc etc. So pretty much we walked through each room in the house and he pointed where everything internally is located.

Again, exciting stuff here people.

Poor Tommy though, every time he would talk about "the next stages" i would say "And how long does that take?…"When do you think that will be completed?".

…girlfriend wants to be moved in already!!

He did tell us that putting up the sheetrock/drywall would take about 5 days, depending on the weather. Please note that when he told me this i was thinking in my head "Well it's been sunny and beautiful the past 2 weeks so i am going to assume he really means about 3 days".

It's currently raining in Texas.

Crap. #delay

After that then the electrical guys come in and make sure everything is still looking good. Then they will bring in cabinets and flooring.

As we were leaving our meeting at the house, our bricks were delivered! The bricks shown below will be covering all the white kb covering.

He is projecting a move in date around the first of the year. With the holidays coming up and all, that really puts about a 2-3 week delay on our build. Which i mean i gggguuuueesss people have to be with their families on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm just a jerk.
